This week’s episode isn’t as long as last week, so rejoice. We will give you the chock full of Turkish football discussion goodness you’ve come to expect.
Week 9 results of the Turkish Super League are
reviewed. Besiktas had a hard time of it
against Genclerbirligi. It seems fixture
congestion is catching up with Osmanlispor and Konyaspor, at least
league-wise. Istanbul Basaksehir
continues their flying start, but one wonders when they will hit the eventual
wall. The schedule for week 10 is given the rundown, and this week features a matchup right at the top of the table.
The draw for the Turkish Cup group stages occurred this past week. Some top flight teams won’t be playing other top flights teams in their group. The pundits discuss the results of the draw.
News this week features injuries and suspensions. Akhisar Belediyespor decided to suspend a couple of players for recent conduct. Also, Besiktas might be dealing with an old nemesis: the injury bug. Bursaspor also made the news as they made sure goalkeeper Harun Tekin sticks around for a while.
Discussion about UEFA competition concludes the podcast this week. It took a wonder goal from Napoli to prevent Besiktas from getting a win. Fenerbahce played Manchester United at home, and this time the outcome was a bit different. Osmanlispor raised a few eyebrows in Spain. As for Konyaspor, it seems they aren’t ready for primetime (as if that was obvious from before).
