Episode 323: That Bug Is Really Tying The Room Together

February 17, 2017

It seems that bug is spreading in Antwerp.  So that means it’s the ultra-abbreviated version of the podcast for this week.  That means it's a solo run.

The week 20 results are given a rundown.  All the top five in the league dropped points, it doesn’t make the league standings all that interesting to go through.  The week 21 schedule is also given a rundown.

The major news of the week is a coaching change at Galatasaray.  Galatasaray decided to get their new coach from another team in the league.

The show wraps up with a review of the review of the Europa League action in the first leg of the round of 32.

Episode 322: The Best Bromance In Turkish Podcasting

February 10, 2017

Considering what happened this past weekend in the Turkish Cup, we might have to batten down the hatches so to speak.  This episode might get ugly.

The matches of the round of 16 of the Turkish Cup are reviewed.  All of the other matches were overshadowed by the eventful (to put it mildly) Besiktas-Fenerbahce match.  We review the matches over the weekend.

News this week concerns the fallout from what is termed on the podcast as the “Battle of Dolmabahce”.  Also, Kasimpasa should watch their matchday roster from here on out.

With the league resuming action this weekend, the week 20 schedule gets the rundown.

(As a side note, the referee that couldn’t be recalled was Deniz Ates Bitnel)

Episode 321: A Podcast Bromance

February 3, 2017

This week is the seventh year anniversary of the podcast.  It doesn’t look that it’s been that long but it has.  Podcasts don’t seem to last this long, right?  It also looks like we’re in for a hectic second half of the current season.

Week 19 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed.  Both Galatasaray and Besiktas got some comfortable wins.  As for Fenerbahce though, it was a week to forget in Kayseri (and that might be an understatement).  Antalyaspor is still on a tear, and Istanbul Basaksehir got a last gasp goal to continue their contention for the league title.  The relegation battle is getting more interesting.

The matchups in the Turkish Cup round of 16 are discussed.  This mostly concerns the Super League teams and whether they will prioritize the cup tournament over the league.

The major moves, as the transfer period is shut, are discussed.  A cult favorite heads back to Besiktas, and Istanbul Basaksehir signs a familiar player.  Bursaspor fills their coaching vacancy, and the pundits discuss the new hire.

The podcast concludes with a discussion on Fenerbahce.  Who’s really to blame for how their season has gone so far?  The guys debate the situation.
