Episode 344: There May Be A Loophole Here

July 28, 2017

As we approach the new season, we are getting into our debating mood.  There’s games and controversy afoot.

The first legs of the current UEFA qualifiers are reviewed.  Istanbul Basaksehir has the advantage in their Champions League tie.  But did they leave the door a bit open?  As for Fenerbahce, they won their Europa League qualifier.  But it would be an off the field controversy that would highlight news concerning Fener this week.

That off the field controversy for Fenerbahce is the transfer of goalkeeper Ertugrul Taskiran to Boluspor of the TFF first division.  While many have called it odd and unethical, the pundits discuss the transfer, including whether it's actually illegal to execute.

While in most weeks that would be the story of the week, Fatih Terim decided to steal the spotlight.  The Turkey national team coach resigned his post this past week.  The shock development is debated as well as potential replacements for the national team post.

The episode wraps up with some discussion of the latest transfers.
