We’re heading into a new year, but we’ll torture your ears before then. With Jeremy still off on his European escapades, Ata is joined by Kaan Bayazit for this week’s episode. You might want to block off some time for this one as this episode is chock full of goods.
Week 17 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed. The two leaders continue to pull away from the field. Bursaspor got a win after a month and a half, and Genclerbirligi continues to be a dumpster fire. Kaan also explains the importance of a clinical striker in the Turkish league.
There’s further discussion about Genclerbirligi this week. Kaan invited his colleague at EA and Genclerbirligi fan Durmus Ali Oner to discuss the woes at the capital club more in detail. The news about Yilmaz Vural getting hired and fired in record time is referenced, and there’s a reported explanation as to why Vural got fired in record time. A good chunk of the conversation deal with club chairman Ilhan Cavcav himself.
News this week features discussion on a variety of subjects. The TFF might possibly step in concerning the amount of coaching changes in a season. A gay referee will be getting compensation for unlawful termination by the TFF. Stephane M’Bia might not be at Trabzonspor much longer, as he possibly could break his contract due to unpaid wages. The panelists discuss that, and the related subject of why Turkish players don’t do the same thing when a similar situation presents itself.
The guys decide to descend the Turkish football league structure and have a brief discussion about the PTT 1st division. The leaders there actually will have to find a new coach for the upcoming second half of the season. The team in the other direct promotional spot also is searching for a new coach, but it seems their situation has been solved.
The podcast then decides to go into a debate of whether Galatasaray is in the title race. (It was Kaan’s idea)
The podcast then wraps up with our ongoing look into the Turkish Women’s 1st Division with the reporting of the week eight results.
