Episode 343: The Dog Needs To Take A Dump

July 20, 2017

Still in the middle of the transfer season and we’ve also got games that count.  For Galatasaray though, this may be a week to forget.  Also, it’s not often somebody takes their dog out for a walk while recording.

Galatasaray in particular are under the microscope this week.  The club recently let go of Wesley Sneijder, and the pundits discuss and debate the issues surrounding the controversial release.  Galatasaray also didn’t have a good time in their European run.  The second leg of the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round between Galatasaray and Ostersunds is reviewed.  With Galatasaray’s elimination, the pundits discuss where Galatasaray goes from here.

The news of the week deals with transfers and European opponents.  In terms of continental competition, Istanbul Basaksehir and Fenerbahce found out who they will be facing in their respective European ties.  Both of these teams also made some moves in the transfer market.  Goztepe have made some moves in the transfer window this past week as well, and their transfers so far are discussed.  Also, a familiar face is back in the Turkish Super League.

Episode 342: Semih Kaya Used To Be Our Punching Bag

July 14, 2017

We took off last week, but there are a lot of things to catch up on.  We may not have gotten everything, but at least we’re getting back into the swing of things before the season begins.

Galatasaray have already begun their European journey.  Unfortunately, the first leg of their UEFA Europa League second qualifying round tie didn’t go so well.  The match against Ostersunds is briefly reviewed, and the pundits debate the latest in the Wesley Sneijder situation.  Also, Galatasaray have sold off defender Semih Kaya to Sparta Prague, and the pundits discuss this move.

While we were away, Besiktas made the major move of the transfer window so far.  The signing of Pepe is discussed as well as the sale of Marcelo Guedes.  Continuing with Besiktas, Anderson Talisca looks to be holding out for a bump in wages, and the pundits discuss the developments.

The draw for the fixtures for the upcoming season took place earlier this week.  The first weekend of the upcoming season is revealed as well as the weeks where the Istanbul big three matches will take place.

The rest of the signings are discussed.  Istanbul Basaksehir made some moves.  They’ve signed two players, but they have sold off a young starlet for a hefty chunk of change.  Moves from Konyaspor, Fenerbahce, Trabzonspor, Kasimpasa and Goztepe, among others, are discussed.  A few eye raising moves from some unexpected clubs are also discussed.  Galatasaray will have to pay Olcan Adin some money owed to him, as Adin won his case for back wages owed to him.  Also, during the recording, there was some news coming over the podcast’s Twitter feed that the pundits discussed as it was happening.

Episode 341: So, Which Way Will Wesley Sneijder Go?

July 4, 2017

There’s still news going around.  The transfer season is fully underway.  Of course, it’s difficult to determine fact from fiction.

The situation surrounding a potential Wesley Sneijder exit from Galatasaray is the major topic this week.  The guys take a look at all of the factors surrounding the situation, from the financials to the potential fan reaction if Sneijder exits.

The recent moves and news are discussed. Sticking with Galatasaray, the Sneijder situation ties into some moves that the club made recently, as the pundits discuss the three new Galatasaray signings.  Also, Trabzonspor looks to have averted a situation involving a player claiming his wages haven't been paid.  Bursaspor looks to have made a pretty decent signing for their defense.

The episode concludes this week with an update on the rumors surrounding Pepe and the possible move by Besiktas to acquire him.
